Ang Manunulat

Ceazar Ryan Cataag Aquino is an aficionado of the communist literature. He reads the lives of people who were so driven by their ideological orientation they succeeded in etching their names in the annals of history.

His favorite is Karl Marx because the German with Jewish blood was able to write a magnificent book, the Das Kapital, while suffering from an excruciating skin disease, being evicted from several tenements because of failure to pay rent, and despite the death of some of his relatives including his own children. “THE PHILOSOPHERS HAVE ONLY INTERPRETED THE WORLD IN VARIOUS WAYS – THE POINT HOWEVER IS TO CHANGE IT” – this has been his favorite line quoted from Marx.

Cez, as he is called by his friends, enjoys the cheap thrills of drinking SanMig Light in Sarahs (a pub near UP Diliman) and devouring kikiam, isaw, fishball et cetera around campus.

He thanks God for letting Mr. Webster document the words “laconic” and “recluse”.
